Ryanair flights from Dublin to Carcassonne start April 8th

Although Ryanair announced that the new Dublin to Carcassonne flights would start on April 19th they’re starting on April 8th.  They have some special fares starting from €29.99

This should make it easier for those Irish people who want to buy property in the south of France.  Mark’s had a lot of Irish clients here house hunting lately.  They all say that the cost of buying a house in Ireland is beyond the means of most people so they’re turning to overseas property as a way to own a home.

I was talking with an Irish accountant who is coming with two clients for two days to look at property.  I asked him what they were looking for and he said that he really didn’t know, that they would be here to learn.  They wanted something that would appreciate and provide revenue.

You get better net revenue from a vacation rental in Languedoc if it’s at the higher end of the market.  Houses with 4 or 5 bedrooms and a swimming pool rent from 2000 euros a week in the summer.

When I said that they should look at houses in the  250,000 to 350,000 range there was a silence on the other end  of the line.  Then he said that  you’d barely get a shack for that in Ireland.

One Response to Ryanair flights from Dublin to Carcassonne start April 8th

  1. My wife & I flew into Carcassonne and found a really nice B&B just outside Narbonne. We highly recommend it. I have listed the website above but it is http://www.st-georges-fr.com. It is well located being in a small market town (Coursan) and a couple of minutes walk from restaurants which we found very agreeable especailly at the end of a long day. Hope this is of help.
