Spring in the Aude

After whining so much about the weather and how cold this winter has been I thought that spring deserved equal time.

It’s glorious and has been since last Thursday, apparently the weather forecast wasn’t a lie.  The sun is shining, it’s supposed to be 19 today.  Daffodils are up and blooming, there are buds on the trees, the grass is growing, the dogs play outside all day and I haven’t had to light a fire since Friday.

Yesterday I had an appointment in Ille sur Tet about 30 minutes west – I think it’s west – of Perpignan.  It’s olive and soft fruit county.  There’s a cherry orchard next to the house that I was at.  When I arrived at about 10.30 I could see the buds, tiny but ready to bloom.  When I left at one some of them had opened and the others looked bigger.   Amazing.

Time to stop hibernating and get a life!  I love spring.
