Summer arrives in the Aude

Summer never arrives here slowly.  It stomps in overnight with a drum-roll and high temperatures.  It arrived on Sunday night.  It was about 15 degrees on Sunday, and cooler that that for the week preceding, yesterday it was about 27, today it’s 29, and 32 is the forecast high for tomorrow.

I’m not a fan of extreme temperatures, I’d be happy with a range from 14 to 22 degrees, but I do love summer mornings and evenings.  The air is quiet and gentle.  The light is clear.  It’d be nice if I could just sleep from about 11 in the morning til about 8 at night.  I’d miss the stinky hot middle of the day.

It doesn’t seem to be a real life option.  Having said that, I think I’ll have a siesta.
