Summer Saturday in Carcassonne

My niece and I went to the market in Carcassonne this morning to get herbs de Provence for her to take to her father in Canada.  The spice lady who is at the Carcassonne market on Saturday and the Lezignan market on Tuesday, and various other markets, now has a website.  You can order herbs and spices directly from La Boite a Epices.  The site’s in French but it’s not difficult to understand.

The market was jammed.  The Bastide was jammed.  The sales started this week so lots of people shopping.  School has ended almost everywhere so lots of people visiting.  Crowds aren’t my favourite thing so we scurried through the market and hurried home.

No Med beaches for me, not until September.  Instead we went to the lake at Taurize.  It was lovely, no one else there for the first two hours.  Yesterday we were alone for about an hour then 4 boys on mopeds arrived, much to the delight of my 13 year old niece and her 14 year old friend.

About Sam

Sam started Aude France as a companion site to her real estate site Aude France Property so that she could have a place to write about life in the Aude. Now that she's in Canada she writes about things that can affect owners and buyers in the Aude - or anything that strikes her fancy.
