Cheap house for sale in the Aude

2 bedroom house with very small court for sale in Montlaur – 60,000 euros

See?  I said it was cheap!  And it’s habitable.  With some imagination and decorating it could be absolutely charming.  There’s no major work that needs to be done right away although at some point you’ll certainly want to redo the electrics.

Please e-mail me or call me at +33 (0)468 24 02 94 if you’d like to make an appointment to see it.

Is it really habitable?

A good question.  We all have different definitions of habitable.  I’ve been living in a partly done renovation for almost three years so my definition may be more relaxed than yours.  For 60,000 euros you’re not going to get a mansion.

This is a solid little village house.  Nothing fancy.  Yes, it is habitable.  Yes, you’ll want to decorate although by French village house standards this isn’t bad.  I’d be painting the dark green dining room pretty quickly though!

The area is gorgeous and Montlaur is charming.  If your budget is limited and you want to buy a house in the south of France this one is well worth considering.

If the property is in a state that it can be improved and if the area is gorgeous as you said then this could be a very good buy indeed, but hard to say (the photos do look really nice on Flickr)
